A GPS Tracking system is used to track a person, vehicle or any asset. It works on the Global Positioning System for determining the exact location in past time or real time depending on the unit you purchase.

Data can be stored or even transmitted by a GPRS (your cell phone SIM), radio or satellite transmission, which are fixed in it, or via tracking software installed on your PC or via the web. This allows the location to be displayed against a map backdrop either in real time or later using customized software.

Initially these devices were big and clumsy, but now due to the advancement in technology, these devices have become extremely small. Many vehicle owners are currently opting to put a hidden GPS system in their vehicle.

These devices can be stashed in the glove compartment or even fixed somewhere in or under the car, so that it becomes extremely difficult to find them.

At first inception, the marine and the aerospace industries were the only areas using GPS tracking systems, but now these devices have found a way into almost everyone’s daily life.
