Here’s another example of GPS tracking technology used to quickly return stolen property. A woman vacationing in Florida recently used the GPS tracking app on her iPad to find it after it was allegedly stolen by an employee at the hotel where she was staying.
The GPS tracking app located the iPad and emailed its location to the iPad owner. After contacting police, the iPad was quickly retrieved unharmed from the posession of a hotel employee who claims she took the iPad home with her because it was too valuable a device to leave at the front desk. The employee is charged with grand theft.
In addition to GPS tracking apps, GPS trackers offer a sensible solution for protecting personal property, including GPS trackers for vehicles, machinery, and personal protection.

TrackingTheWorld, the World’s leader in GPS tracking, is currently seeking partnerships with vendors and distributors for the firm’s new profit sharing program which provides generous monthly recurring income opportunities based on activated software subscriptions. No cash investment is required.
The plan begins with 25% profit sharing when a distributor reaches 10 activated subscriptions, followed by 30% profits for distributors reaching 50-99 subscriptions, 35% profits for distributors reaching 100-199 subscriptions, and 40% profits for distributors reaching 200 or more activated subscriptions on TrackingTheWorld’s GPS tracking software platform.
All distributors have the opportunity to earn additional profit from GPS tracking hardware sales. Participants are not required to maintain a stock of GPS tracking devices. Free drop shipping service is available for TrackingTheWorld hardware (actual shipping fees are the responsibility of the distributor), and white labeling options are available for qualified distributors.
TrackingTheWorld’s profit sharing program is also open to existing distributors and businesses desiring to earn more than their current profit sharing program offers.
The first step to qualify for TrackingTheWorld profit sharing is to submit a distributor application through the company’s website at www.trackingtheworld.com. Requirements for becoming a distributor include an approved website for selling GPS tracking equipment or other consumer electronics, and credit card processing capabilities. Profit sharing is available only to U.S. distributors.
TrackingTheWorld maintains two subscription pricing options for distributors to offer their customers. Subscriptions are priced at $39.95 per month and $59.95 per month, and continue until the customer cancels. Subscriptions are billed in advance in three, six, or twelve month intervals. Additional incentives are available for customers who wish to subscribe for longer periods.
Two Examples of Earning Potential with Profit Sharing from TrackingTheWorld:
A distributor with 1,500 activated trackers charging $39.95 per month for subscriptions would earn 40 percent profit, a total of $20,970 per month, or $251,640 per year.
Now, compare the same profit sharing example using our $59.95 subscription price:
A distributor with 1,500 activated trackers charging $59.95 per month for subscriptions would earn 40-percent profit, a total of $32,970 per month, or $395,640 per year.

Another Innovative Use for GPS Tracking
According to the BBC, a Scotland man is using GPS tracking technology to track his herd of cattle, after the request was made by a local agency managing wildlife preservation. The GPS tracking project’s goal is to make the cattle’s grazing area more suitable for birds and other wildlife, in an attempt to increase their populations.
Here at TrackingTheWorld, we enjoy reading about how people put GPS tracker devices and GPS tracking software to use for their businesses and livelihoods. But one question remains…is this considered fleet tracking?

A second round of research by the Kiawah Conservancy, located in Kiawah Island of South Carolina, is using GPS tracking technology to monitor 35-bobcats in the area. The data gained from the study will
provide critical information on the bobcats’ habitat area, and create a virtual boundary for preserving it .The GPS tracking systems helps builders on the island to avoid building over the habitats of the native species.
Wildlife preservationists feel the GPS tracking program is important, because human development on the island has already resulted in the deaths of 2 bobcats, both struck by cars.

We’ve often blogged about the use of GPS trackers for municipalities, including GPS tracking for school districts and police departments. Here’s another story from Bergen County, NJ that provides an excellent example of how cities and towns are using GPS tracking systems to cut costs and increase efficiency.
In August, the county implemented the use of 100 GPS tracking systems in county vehicles and is considering the installation of 100 more. Since the county police department had previously installed GPS tracking units, the new GPS trackers were spread among multiple county departments, including the public works and parks departments.
County officials cite that they are pleased with the results of the GPS trackers, reporting that the GPS tracking units save time, and result in greater employee attention while driving a county vehicle.

According to the Detroit Free Press, GPS tracking technology for tracking airplanes, could soon be available if government funding and the approval of the FAA come through.
With a concept easily comparable to fleet tracking, GPS tracking systems for aircraft would allow pilots to fly directly to their destinations rather than using the current practice of indirect routes which are dependent upon the ability to communicate with ground stations.
GPS tracking systems will also allow pilots to see their own locations as well as the locations of other planes in the area. Precision GPS technology will allow planes to fly closer together. In addition, it is anticipated that GPS tracking installed on aircrafts will result in fuel conservation due to the fact that pilots will have the technology necessary to glide directly on to the runway while idling, rather than using the current procedure of stair step descents which consume considerable amounts of fuel.
GPS tracking for aircraft may be delayed due to lack of funding and the FAA approval process. Some fear that a prolonged delay would negatively affect the United States’ lead role in high tech aviation development around the world.

Here’s a great GPS news story from Australia:
A man monitoring his excavator via GPS tracking software recently watched in real-time as a thief towed away the costly piece of machinery which he had equipped with a GPS tracking device . During a trek of more than 30-miles, the GPS tracking software indicated the speed and location of the excavator as it was hauled by the tow truck. After monitoring the entire episode via real time GPS tracking on his computer, the owner of the excavator called local authorities and told them exactly where to intercept the suspect as he continued to tow the excavator. The suspect was taken into custody and the excavator was recovered without damage.
The above story is a great example of GPS tracking solutions at work for business owners. Without the GPS tracking system installed on the excavator, and the sophistication of GPS tracking software, its possible the excavator might not have been recovered, resulting in considerable loss.
